Milan Design Week 2015: furniture is the new fashion
Last week the much awaited appointment of the year took place in Milan: the Milan Design Week 2015. Design veterans such as EuroLuce or Minotti attended the event together with newly-born out-comers such as design e-commerce Buru Buru.
The real protagonists of the event however were fashion designers: Roberto Cavalli, Giorgio Armani, Versace, Emilio Pucci all presented their home collections. It’s been several years, since these major Italian labels have expanded their territory from the catwalk, to the living room. Fashionable furniture is a business that is ever increasing, which once again became evident during this year’s Salone Del Mobile, also known as Milan Design Week.
One amongst many was Emilio Pucci, who teamed up with Kartell, launching a series of chairs designed by French starchitect Philippe Starck. The capsule collection is made up of four chairs, each defined by the kind of rich prints the Emilio Pucci brand is notorious for. The Madame – World of Emilio Pucci Edition capsule, is made up of four chairs, which each celebrate a different city through colorful prints. Featured in the prints are Rome’s Piazza di Spagna, Avenue Montaigne in Paris, Manahattan’s skyscrapers and Shanghai’s most characteristic districts.
The chairs are shoppable at selected Emilio Pucci’s flagship stores worldwide.
