Victoria’s Secret two million dollar bras
A couple of weeks ago the Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show happened in London and it saw celebrities and angels, of course, gathering together for the launch of the new collection. This year four were the themes: Gilded Angel, Exotic Traveller, Fairy Tale, Dream Girl, University of Pink and Angel Ball. While the performers included Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.
What caught our eyes were the two Fantasy Bras, designed and made by Mouawad jewellers using 16,000 rubies, diamonds and sapphires, all of which are strung together with 18 karat gold. The ornate ensembles took the designers more than 1,380 hours to make. The two creations were worn down the runway by models Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima, who certainly did the extraordinary items justice as they both looked stunning on the catwalk at London’s Earl’s Court. The bras, who are said to be worthy $2 million each, revealed their slender and shapely figures for the eager audience.
Adriana wore the blue and silver version of the swanky lingerie, Alessandra instead had the pleasure of wearing the red bra, that presented even more jewellery than her colleague. Each of the women – who have been Victoria’s Secret Angels for years (Adriana since 2000, Alessandra since 2004) – were adorned with large, flowing capes matching the colour of their underwear, adding drama to the moment. Ed Sheeran was the lucky performer who got to sing for the two brazilian beauties as they made their way down the runway.
Last year, Candice Swanepoel had the pleasure of showing off the Fantasy Bra, the 2013 version costing an incredible $10 millions. In previous years also Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Tyra Banks and Karolina Kurkova had the honour of wearing it.
The long-time Angels were joined by their fellow models including Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, Candice Swanepoel. The show was, as ever, a night to remember and a spectacular display of the most beautiful lingerie and models in the world.
